Originally founded in 2002, THE POLICE EXPERIENCE was soon befriended by Stewart’s brother Ian Copeland, who was also the founder of FBI Booking and the driving force behind The Police’s unparalleled touring success. Ian was so impressed by the band’s authenticity, passion and energy that he had them perform for Stewart Copeland’s birthday in July 2003 at a small gathering for friends and family; including Miles Copeland III; founder of IRS records and manager of The Police. Upon hearing the band, Stewart himself jumped up on stage and sat in with THE POLICE EXPERIENCE, tearing the house down with "Driven to Tears" and "Roxanne". For the band, it was an honor and a solid affirmation of their efforts to perform with one of the world's most talented rock drummers ever, as well as the co-founding member of The Police. Later, manager Miles Copeland said of the band-“…the best copy band I have seen to date…close your eyes and it's my boys…” - Miles Copeland


In addition to being hand-selected for and performing on the nationally-televised (AXS TV) “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” and contributing recordings to albums affiliated with the same Marc Cuban-helmed program, THE POLICE EXPERIENCE has continued performing in a variety of theaters, performing arts centers, casinos, cruise ships, nightclubs and private events- featuring a client list that includes Disney, Xerox, and Royal Caribbean. Even more recently has been the advent of “THE POLICE EXPERIENCE- SYMPHONIC” presentation- a full 90-minute show featuring original orchestrations of all the classics, with the band backed by a full Symphony Orchestra.

The band has also has been embraced by a community of musicians who all share the same respect for the music of The Police- most notably the band’s good friend, the late/great Taylor Hawkins; who frequently “borrowed” David and Jimbo for his own local “Police” gigs and talked about them whenever given the chance; even stating in a televised national press interview-
